PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE GGLC CONSTITUTION 2010


Notice is hereby given of the following proposed Changes to Constitution of GGLC to be addresses at the AGM on April 21st 2010

The GGLC Constitution referred to is as ratified December 1998

Section 4. Membership, Sub-section 4.3
"Members are required to respect the rights and views of other members. In particular members must respect the confidentiality of other regarding:"
To be changed to: "Members are required to respect the rights and views of other members and others attending Group meetings or events. In particular members must respect the confidentiality of other regarding:"

To add after sub-section 4.3.3
"4.3.4. Identification of any person either written or visual may not be placed in the public domain without permission of the person or persons who could be identified"

Section 8. Elections, Sub-section 8.7 Committee Members
"8.7.1. If the number of candidates is equal to or less than the number of vacancies they will be elected unopposed."
To be changed to "8.7.1. If the number of candidates is equal to or less than the number of vacancies they will be elected individually on a simple majority vote of 'for or against'

Section 9 Committee
Sub-section 9.1
"9.1.1. The Committee will consist of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and three other members."
To be changed to: "9.1.1 The Committee will consist of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor and three other members"

Section 10 Newsletter Editor. Points 10.1 to 10.4 will be renumbered 9.3.4.1 to 9.3.4.4 and placed within Section 9 Committee.

The remaining Headings 11 to 17 will be renumbered as appropriate.

Memebers are reminded that they must attend the AGM in order to vote on the proposed changes. Proxy or postal votes are not permitted under the constitution.
