HIGHNAM COURT NSPCC CONCERT 2007

The day of the concert dawned with torrential rain, not really the weather for a picnic. By the evening, the sky had cleared and we had a rare dry night. Well wrapped up and picnic eaten and topped off with a wedge of Kens' Lemon Meringue Pie, we settled back to enjoy the concert.

The Youth orchestra was, as always, superb, playing us a mixture of classical and modern pieces. Later in the evening, we were entertained by the "counterfeit Bee Gees" - close your eyes and you would think they were the real thing. Sadly, no vocalist this year to lead us with "Land of Hope and Glory", but we made up with it by madly waving our flags and sparklers for all we were worth!! The evening rounded off with a great firework display from the roof of the house. We all agreed it was a great evening and roll on next year.
