GGLC ANNUAL DINNER 2006
Around 40 members and guests met at the Ramada Hotel, Gloucester on Saturday
October 28th to celebrate the group's 34th annual get together.
The decorated room looked superb thanks to about a dozen volunteers who turned
up at 10.30 on Saturday morning to arrange snowflakes, icicles, fairy(!) lights
and assorted decorations to create the "Winter on the Hill" theme.
Our Guest speaker, Manny Masih gave us an insight into the his work with Radio
Gloucestershire and we were delighted to welcome him and his friend Pushpar.
The Chair presented the Colin Garfield trophy to Tony and Chris at the Coach & Horses
for their sterling efforts in organising Gloucestershire's first "Rainbow Day".
Last year's winners Gary and Dave were also present, and it was the Secretary's
pleasure to present them with their plaque as a memento of their year.
The venue, the meal and the friendly service, seemed to meet with everyone's approval
and the Committee and members have already discussed the possibility of returning
next year.
I am sure the Chair and Committee will appreciate any feedback from guests about
the evening.
