A Colourful Bang (The Annual Dinner)

We arrived at the Royal Williams in a downpour so for us the evening got off to a

damp start. But walking in to all those balloons and hum of conversation and laughing

soon cheered us up.  Wwe enjoyed meeting new people and old friends. When the Chair

announced dinner, we all walked into the room and the sight just made you stop and look.

The table was decorated in white lights wrapped in coloured material with the light

shining through beautiful autumn leafs. Candles, branches hanging from the ceiling with

lights dripping from them, and glasses with red and yellow napkins looking like flames.

Brilliant. The same unfortunately could not be said for the food, but great company made

up for that. Our speaker was Sarah, who has spoken at the group several times, accompanied

by her boss and friend, Kay.  They certainly had a great time and kept saying how they

were loving it and the best night out in ages.  Sarah gave a lovely speech, humorous and

not too long, suitably reviving herself with plenty of liquid refreshment!! The evening

was completed with a firework display as a gift from the Chairman. Thanks Michael. Thumbs

down for the food but for the evening - brilliant and thank you to the people who made it

all happen. PS The Committee have since received a delightful letter from Sarah and Kay

thanking us for their flowers and for such a wonderful evening. They would love to be

invited back and would pay for their ticket!!
